About Japan

In 1949, two couples responded to the appeal for workers from Dr. Takuo Matsumoto, a New Testament scholar. Eastern Hokkaido Island was the scene for their pioneer church planting.

Over the years, mission work has spread to other islands, focusing on teaching, Christian-nurture ministries, and translating and publishing Mennonite literature.
